After reading blog after blog, site after site, and researching all I could about what I needed to start my official website, I decided to sit down and make the damn thing. I’ve procrastinated long enough. As much as I’d love to go ahead and have someone else customize this for me, I actually enjoy designing my own sites. Eventually, I’d like to make my own instead of using one of the templates.
My obvious reason for me needing a website is the fact that I just finished my first book in a paranormal romance series that I’ve been working on for a year. Again, I procrastinated. However, I’ve had a lot of time on my hands as a stay-at-home (soon-to-be) mom. I can finally say that my book is done! — and by done I mean that I still have to have it edited, a cover made, published — you know, all that stuff that goes into actually “finishing” a book. But, let me have this one little moment to brag. I heard confidence is a good thing when you are starting out your writing career. It’s apparently motivating.
Even though I only have one book written, I’ve been following the advice of many of my favorite authors by constantly writing. Which means, I’m working on not only two other books to add to my paranormal romance series, but a completely different post-apocalyptic (series? novel?) as well. So, don’t think that I’m just going to stop and focus on one book–oh, no–I’ve got plans, my friends. And, even if those plans fail and all of you completely hate me, I will be excited to have my stories self-published for myself and my hubby, who thinks I’m awesome.
So, I guess this is my first official post on my first official website, with lots more to come in the next few days. Cheers!
