Writing Prompt #11

Talk about your favorite pair of shoes and why you love them so much.

Quick summary of what I wrote about today:

I wrote in third person, about a girl who is digging through her closet for a pair of shoes to wear. She picks through a pile of toddler shoes before finding a pair of heels she hasn’t worn since college. She cringes at the thought of wearing them now. She eyes the rest of her shoes then sighs and closes the door. Her bare feet smack on the hardwood as she walks away from the closet.

So, in short…

I wrote about reminiscing about a favorite pair of shoes…or, really, any shoes lol because I hate wearing them, and don’t unless I have to go out somewhere.

Writing Prompt #2

If you fell down a rabbit hole, what do you think you’d find?

My brain is half dead this morning, even after coffee, so this one was a struggle. My mind is on my book, which I stayed up late reading over last night. So, with that clouding my thoughts, I only came up with a few ideas, but not many details.

First, I thought about the rabbit hole being an obvious portal. If it’s a portal than it would be a hidden barrier between the human world and the spirit realm. More specifically, it would lead to my Fae world, which I write about in my Paranormal Romance series. Then I thought it might be more fitting for it to lead to the shadow realm, essentially Hell, which my character Kas calls his “paradise.”

If it didn’t lead to another realm, then I would just want to find a human-like rabbit, sipping tea in a large armchair, who tells me of all his magical adventures and reads me stories.

Writing Prompt

Look what I scored today! I plan on doing this every day in this journal. If you’d like to join me, I’ll post a prompt every day and you can either answer it in the comment section, your own blog, or your journal, etc. This is a quick, short exercise you can do before you start working on your blogs or books during the day to keep creativity flowing. The catch is, you only have about half a sheet of paper of space to write on. Keeping it short is definitely a fun challenge for me. I will post the overall summary of what I wrote about in my journal since I don’t have time to re-write the whole thing in a blog post. Enjoy ♥

Day 1: While at the beach you decide to write a message in a bottle. What would it say? Who would you like to find it?

I described the beach while writing a love note. I shoved my message into a glass bottle and sent it out over the crashing waves to a shape-shifting mermaid, who grabbed it and disappeared under the surface of the ocean with a smile on her face.
